Born of Chinese decent, my legal experience began in 1985 working as filing clerk and then legal assistant in various Chinatown and Richmond law firms. I received my law degree in 1994 from the University of Alberta and was first called to the bar in 1995 in the State of Colorado, where I maintain active status. After my 1998 call in BC, I worked as in-house counsel in the hospitality industry. In 2000, I made a lifestyle choice and moved my husband and five children to the Fraser Valley and purchased a neighbourhood solicitor’s practice. In 2004, I merged with David Siebenga to form Siebenga & King Law Offices and we currently operate four offices throughout the Fraser Valley, from Surrey to Chilliwack.
I have been the secretary of CBA Real Property subsection (Vancouver branch) since 2000, and a member of RELAN (Real Estate Lawyers and Notaries) association. I maintain a 100% solicitor’s practice, dealing with Property law, Wills and Estates, Elder Law, Corporate, and family agreements. I have been a guest teacher at the PLTC, and have spoken at The People’s Law School, Douglas College, senior’s centres, real estate offices and churches. I assist with the Representation Act Resource Centre, a non profit association providing assistance for estate planning agreements, and am involved and support various charities, including Teen Challenge, Nightshift Ministries, Summit College, Leading Influence and the Homelife Variety Club golf tournament. I have been a presenter to various real estate offices in providing information on key issues in conveyancing.
